National Hydropower‘s Net Profit Declines

National Hydropower Company (NHPC) has published its second quarter report of the current FY. As per the report, its net profit has decreased compared to the corresponding period of the last FY.

In the review period, the company earned Rs 7.3 million in net profit compared to Rs 8.5 million of the corresponding period of the last FY.

During the period, the company raised its net profit by merely 0.68 percent, however, its total profit increased by 18.33 percent due to decline in direct expenses. Even though, increase in financial expenses and depreciation kept its net profit in pressure.

The company has EPS of Rs 0.89, P/E ratio of 282.02 times and net worth per share of Rs 101.08.

As per the company, it has already obtained survey approval letter of 4.5 MW Lower Indrawati Jalvidhyut Project and completed its technical and environment survey. The financial report informs hat it signed Grid Connection Agreement with NEA for the project. The company is seeking final approval from Electricity Regulation Commission (ERC) for the sales agreement of the power generated from the plant. Moreover, the company is reconstructing the damaged tunnels and other infrastructure.

Recently, the company started joint transaction after acquiring Sunkoshi Hydropower. The company has acquired right approval from ERC to issue 50 percent right shares. Now the company is seeking approval from Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) for the same.
